We started riding him about the first part of July 07 with a ground handler, he did well no real bumps in the road in training so far. In August and September 07 he completed the  - allow himself to be saddled easily - stand still to mount - flex and bend at a standstill - bend in a circle at a walk - give to pressure to back - sort of stuff...

12-07 We are riding Dartagnan 30-45 minutes at a time now, about 1/3 of that in gait. He falls right into gait with no coaxing. I would consider him "well started" to saddle, he has had a good foundation installed! Needs more wet saddle blankets and time to continue his education, but knows basics well and is good, the more he is ridden the better he gets. 

2-08 He’s is a real gentleman whether you are handling him on the ground or you are riding him. Dartagnan is real level headed in his attitude, not a real mooch but warms up as you handle him. We have only just begun to ask for gait, so far he shows himself to be smooth, and that will be refined as he gets more saddle time.

4-08 Dartagnan is out on the trails by himself and/or with one other green horse. He has shown himself to be quite level-headed, taking most anything in stride. Seldom finds anything to object to and if he does it is a "spook in place" where he stops and has to be coaxed a bit then will proceed with little issue.

7-08 Dartagnan has become the horse we take out with any of the green horses who need to settle on the trails. Good attitude and goes along with little to no issues at anything.

10-08 Dartagnan has been working by himself a lot on trails, up to 2 hours out at a time on a regular basis (2-3 time a week). 

Of course, the price of the horse increases as the work progresses. Pictures don't do him justice. Moves in gait free in pasture, extremely athletic. Up to date on all shots except West Niles (we don't give it). Dewormed and trimmed on a regular basis.
